What are your bad office habits doing to your body?

Do we think of our long-term quality of life when we rush into the office and sit all day? Probably not…… but we should

Long term bad habits can lead to pain and degeneration.

The person next to you may be stooping, slouching, twisting awkwardly, but believe me he / she will know about it at some point.

Bodies function best when in:

  • Spinal Neutral – when the spine’s in optimal functioning position
  • Balance – using each half of the body 50:50

Prevention is really where we should focus our attention, however the majority of people respond to pain over implementing preventative measures. The problem with waiting for pain is the underlying damage has already occurred. This means the area of damage needs to go through a number of processes before reaching optimal function, which takes a long time:-

  • Suffering

  • Improving

  • Recovering

  • Stabilising

  • Strengthening

  • Healing

  • Correcting

  • Enhancing

  • Optimising

The majority of people would reach a level of ‘No pain’ and feel this is adequate. However, the smarter person goes above and beyond this to reach optimal recovery and maintains this through lifestyle choice.

Do not despair if you are currently suffering, the quicker you address your injury the quicker in general the body will recover.
